A creative garden!

Letters from you

Hello Rach

I think it is so cool that you stated you wanted to encourage families to grow their own gardens, in fact we decided a week ago to make a garden of our own.  We have limited space and poor quality soil, and as we were trying to make up our minds about what to do we inherited a jungle gym. My husband envisioned that we could use it as part of our new unique garden. We used the jungle gym but you can make the same structure out of inexpensive PVC pipe for very little and It is sooooo easy to make. The sides are inexpensive roofing material and we filled it with garden soil. It took only a few hours to set up and to begin planting. We wanted to send a picture to share with you. We are calling it a Global Garden because of it’s unique shape (great for climbing plants) and it’s ability to support  a large growing area in a small footprint. Watering can be easilly controlled due to the round shape. This is 8 feet in diameter. We believe this garden idea would really work well for anyone interested in starting to grow their own veggies. We will send another picture when the peas, beans, corn and squash we planted starts climbing the structure.

We love you Rach, you are so inspiring…

    Hi Rach,
I am living in South Africa and I know that we see the not-so-up-to-date programs, but nethertheless, I love watching you! I am recovering from a bilateral mastectomy done in Novemeber 2007 ( I was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts) and it is really going well with me. I just want you to know that I find you a wonderful young lady, always very inspiring and bubbly andthat is why I always make an effort to watch your show. I will definitely visit this web site more, since I just love your recipies. I pray that all is well with you and your husband. South African time 15:55 pm.
    Love Elsie Hullyer

    Dear Rachel,
I watch your show at work. (Nice that I can do that, huh?) At any rate, I rent and my landlord will not let me have a garden, even though I have a HUGE backyard. What would you suggest?

Hi, Rachel! I just wanted to let you know that I look forward to watching your show 3 mornings a week after dropping my 2 girls off at the in-house daycare at the gym. I get awesome ideas for supper each night and a real workout on the elliptical trainer to boot! OH! And if your show isn’t already on the tv in front of me, I go on this man hunt for the remote to make sure it is! Look out! It’s my only tv time unless you count Max and Ruby on Noggin!!!

    Dear Rachel

I’m emailing you from Cape Town, South Africa.
Myself and my little sister, Zonnika(13) love watching your shows. My guess is that we are a bit behind but never the less we enjoy it. I just want to thank you for being you. I have never enjoyed a talk show as much as I enjoy yours! The meals you make, looks abselutly devine! At times I wish I was the one in the audience just to get a chance in sampling the dish of the day.

Thank you once again for making such a big difference!
    Angeline & Zonnika
