I am not sure if this is the right spot for my question? I will try it. My brother-in-law made some delicious pea soup two days ago. We had some last night and it was perfect. Today, it tastes “sour”?? He reports that the same thing happened to him at his own house - in Erie PA, only it happened with chicken soup as well. What is he doing wrong? We went through the whole soup making process, ingredients, pans, water, etc. and we can’t figure out what is happening. We thought maybe it was warming it up in the microwave, but heating it up on the stove did the same thing. We are very frustrated!
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

my friend is on a low salt diet and does not like chicken much. I was looking for spices that would take the place of salt and make chicken tast better and can be use on other meats as well. we watch all your shows as she is dieing and has lots of time to watch.
    thanks

I was just about to post the same question about the 5 spice powder. Am I correct in assuming that you were trying the Coconut Curry Chicken recipe from the Sept issue? I’m going to try it tonight, but I live in a remote location with no grocery store…I guess I’ll try to make it with what I have….I was thinking of trying my allspice and adding the pepper….any suggestions? I don’t have fennel seeds or star anise….

I just wanted to tell Rachel that when I cooked the lentils with onion and water - instead of water I used chicken broth. Then after the broth evaporated I added the lentils to the v.o.o and garlic. Delicious!

The show I watched was on 9/08/08 in NJ.
