We don’t know how any of you feel about dressing your dog for Halloween, so we thought we’d bring this matter up and hear your thoughts. It seems to make sense to put your dog in a sweater when it is cold outside, especially if they have short hair, as does Isaboo:

Now doesn’t she look so cute???
But dressing your pup for Halloween is a whole other matter. Some outfits can be sort of fun and cute and fairly simple, like bug antennae or statue of liberty crowns. But this year, the costume choices are endless, especially for the small dog. Here are just a few of the funniest ones we have found:
From glamourdogs.com :

These two little court jesters made us howl with laughter!
Now, we are huge football fans, but this poor pug looks like he is a little too covered up. If this were a Buffalo Bills uniform, then maybe we’d say it was a winner.

This has to be the absolute funniest costume we found and oh so fitting! Now what happens if you want mustard with yours???

Here’s where we get a little confused-shouldn’t there be four sneaks?

from gifthome.com
Okay this costume really made us laugh! It looks like the dog is standing like Yoda:

and lastly, from wiggle-n-waggle.com, how charming is this guy?:

Do you dress up your dog or cat for Halloween?

My Sheltie is a hospital therapy dog and every halloween I dress her up and visit and the local hospital. People loved the pirate costume the best - so that’s the one she will be wearing this year!
09.11.08 @ 5:20 pm
Costumes can be cute but they can also be frightening. I am the mother of a black female and fawn male pug — so funny thay they are almost always in the costumes and they have the most difficult breathing pattern.
Very cute, but only if the little girl or guy can handle it. Mine DO NO LIKE TO BE DRESSED. I live through others.
09.11.08 @ 7:48 pm
We don’t dress our little rat terrier Niki up. Mainly because she hates it; but I think that if you keep the costume simple and uncumbersome for the baby then it is fine.
Happy Halloween!!!!
09.12.08 @ 10:08 am
As long as the dog will wear the costume, I think it is wonderful idea! I don’t have kids so I treat my dog as though she is my baby. She is an 8 pound, fawn colored Chihuahua and absolutely loves to get dressed up! This Halloween she will be dressing as Cinderella.
09.12.08 @ 11:19 pm
We adopted a dog from the local humane society and she had very little fur from poor nutrition. We put a lightweight baby sleeper on her for a few months at bedtime and she loved being warm. She was 2 when we brought her home and developed a beautiful coat and shared our home for 15 years. Lori was a wonderful family member. As far as dressing up if the dog does not mind they really do look cute.
09.13.08 @ 10:03 am
We dont generally dress the dog up but Nova does have a few winter coats that she sports in winter.Although the hotdog outfit was just hillarious!

I have a very interesting looking tan mute w/a cute long moehack between his lovely pointy ears. I rescued him from one my clients who w/going to lose their apt. if they didn’t get rid of him.
My Peppie loves to get dressed in his sweaters, rain coats, winter coats (he even has a shirlin) to for his walks in the park.
Last year he was a chicken, a bumble bee the year before that. This year we haven’t decieded yet…………
09.14.08 @ 5:30 pm
I have to admit I think it’s kind of cute to dress them up sometimes. I dressed my yellow lab up as a Biker Dog for Halloween one year. He seemed to tolerate it. I won’t say he liked it. I took a couple pics of him as well.
09.15.08 @ 8:45 am
Those are so cute, we dress our dog up for Halloween and Christmas, and this year our ferret will be dressed up for Halloween, I know we are nuts but our family and friends thanks they are cut
09.16.08 @ 9:39 am
So I have a mini chihuahua, and she dresses up every year. She loves wearing clothes in general. For 2 years running she wore a pig costume, which suited her well because she is rather pudgy. One year she was my “Guard pig”, she sat by the candy bowl and barked at people who tried to take more than 2 pieces. Very cute! Then last year she was a black spider…and a cute one I must say! But i have a new dog now…so coming up with 2 costumes this year should be fun! Needless to say, I think dog costumes are absolutely adorable and fun! ! !
09.16.08 @ 2:01 pm
My husband and I will usually dress together within a particular theme for our Halloween party, for example our first year together we choose the roaring 20’s so I was a Gatsby Girl and he was a Bootlegger. Well, this year we have our newest addition, Maggie, our little pug/boston terrier. She just LOVES to dress up! Needless to say I’m excited that we can dress up our dog with us. This year we’ve decided on Ancient Greece as our theme, so I’ll be Medusa, he’ll be a Socrates, and Maggie will be Cerberus (the 3-headed dog that guards Hades).
I think owner’s should take their dog’s comfort-level and willingness to dress up into consideration on Halloween. Enjoy!
09.17.08 @ 10:01 am
I don’t have a pet yet, but I have helped my best friend dress her dog up. There was one night, my friend and I just got some new nail polish and decided to try it out on her dog. He’s black and the polish was a metalick pink and blue. I was real surprised becuz he actually let us paint his nails. We stopped with his front paws. We got a laugh out of it. As for Halloween, one year he was Frankinstein and the year before that a clown with red nose and all.
09.17.08 @ 11:34 am
So dog costumes are waaaaay over the top but some ar just plain cute … as long as its not physically hurting the dog whats the harm for a few cute pictures … My boxer/pit mix can’t fit into costumes due to his broad chest and skinny waste so we kinda miss out …
I also wanted to know where Rachael found such a nice sweater for Isaboo … I’d love a similar sweater for my boy during winter time !
09.17.08 @ 5:02 pm
Halloween is our pug’s favorite holiday. We dress her in a different costume each year to greet the kids at the door. She gets so excited when we put on her costume. This year Puggy Tsu is going to be a BUMBLE BEE !!
09.17.08 @ 6:06 pm
Last Halloween was our Border Terrier’s 1st. Weather permitting we always sit on our front porch and give out candy. I dressed Charley(female)as a witch. The costume was in purple & black. She was just adorable. She sat on the porch with us and the kids just loved her, especially the little girls. Everyone thought she was the cutest thing. So yes, we do plan on getting her a new one this year, but I’m thinking about a princess.
09.17.08 @ 7:16 pm
your dog look cute in that outfit my dog ziggy look just like your same color has more brown and tip of tail has a little litte white on the end i love m y pitbull he is very nice
09.17.08 @ 8:57 pm
I must be very tired because I cant seem to find how to make a new entry. Just wanted to let all you dog lovers know that Saturday Sept. 20 is National Puppy Mill Awareness Day. http://www.AwarenessDay.org will give you info about events that are going on in what areas. My mom and I just found out about this “day” two weeks ago, so we have put together a small event in our city to spread the word. Check it out! Hopefully every year the event will grow bigger until soon there will be no need for the day because puppy mills will be extinct. Lots of work to do before then.
THANKS!!!!
Love Ya Rach!!
09.18.08 @ 10:37 am
I love to dress my 2 miniature dachshunds up, but they don’t always like it. I try to find comfortable things for them to wear but they have such short legs. As long as my dogs are happy then i am happy too. I can’t wait to start looking for something for them for halloween. By the way I love that sweater on Isaboo!
09.18.08 @ 2:04 pm
I love to dress my Boston Terrier up. I buy
some but I love to make his outfits.
He is a spoiled puppy or dog, I should say, He
is three years old, but we treat him like a
baby.
Rach, My husband & I both love your show. We
are both retired and he is really into it.
Freda
09.18.08 @ 8:38 pm
Halloween is mine and my poochers favorite holiday, and my figure skating coach Susie Dee’s. Why do I add this, because, our little group at the rink made a club of Susies Dee’s worker bees. I am not kidding about this being her favorite holiday. She takes the day off of coaching, and advises us to take the day off of skating because, “Halloween is a national holiday, and every one shoud take the day off, to have fun”. So I thought this was well fitting and that is why my poochers, Mushu is being a bumble bee, also known as a worker bee.

Happy Halloween!!
09.19.08 @ 11:43 am
I have a purebred Border Collie. She is a sheep dog that mostly herds birds and squirrels but keeps a sharp eye on my son while he’s playing and riding his bike. I’ve always wanted to dress her up as a sheep! She basically is that anyway around lots of people!
09.19.08 @ 11:57 am

My dog SCooter wore his tux outfit from my daughter’s wedding ) he was the ring bearer). This year he is going as a Police Officier to keep the peace at the dog park.
Rachel - Your show is the best!
Regards to you and Isaboo.

I will be dressing my black pug Jazzie as a spider.
09.19.08 @ 8:03 pm
Love all the comments from the great pet lovers out there. I have a mainecoon cat (runt - only 18 lbs! and live on a 44 foot sailboat. My cat always gets dressed for Halloween. Depending on his mood I dress him as an angel or a devil, then we go trick or treating. Of course I do help provide the treats he gets.
Rachael, I love your showS, I never miss them ( record if I must). Please keep your show(s) on the air. Happy Halloween to you, your Hubby and Isaboo.
09.19.08 @ 8:10 pm
No my dogs will not be dressed. Everytime I tried they either would not move or the other would take it off the other dog.
I have two bulldogs and a boxer (Sarge, Grunt and Buddy). We call them the fuglies. We love them to pieces……
09.19.08 @ 8:14 pm
This year is our first halloween with our Lola. We are dressing up as a family. My nine year old son will be Batman, I am going to be Batgirl, and our Lola is going to be the Joker. I can’t wait!
Trick or treat
09.19.08 @ 8:22 pm
My one year old Dalmatian Daisy will
be wearing some type of Halloween inspired
gear, probually not a full blown costume,
but at least a “spooky” collar or bandana.
09.20.08 @ 1:00 am
I have a black pug named Onyx and an english mastiff named Tonka. Onyx loves to dress up, no matter what time of year. We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba so it is very cold for a majority of the year. In order to permit Tonka to go for a walk suited for a big dog, Onyx needs to wear a sweater or a jacket to keep warm…I am generally not ‘allowed’ to dress Tonka up, although she does wear a lot of bandanas and loves every one of them. She does have special holiday ones…one Halloween, we did manage to find a child’s tutu for her, but she didn’t like it very much so we took it off..Onyx on the other hand loves her Halloween costumes. She has been a witch, Frankenstein, a spider and this year she will be a skeleton which is great because I am an Xray Technologist!!!
I say if your dog doesn’t mind it, dress them up!! But you have to respect the fact that they may be uncomfortable and if so, remove the costume.
09.20.08 @ 5:56 am
This Halloween, our furbutt is going to copy his skin-brother who just graduated from the police academy and be a policeman.
09.20.08 @ 12:01 pm
My lab has all kinds of shirts shoes jackets and she loves it you pick up one of her coats and she comes to you to put it on and then runs to the door. she knows people will tell her shes cute and pet her.
09.20.08 @ 12:58 pm
Isaboo looks adorable in her sweater. I have two Maltese, a boy and a girl, I have several outfits for both. They don’t give me any trouble about wearing them, they come over to me and let me put their clothes on. We take them out to dinner with us and during the cooler months (we live in Florida), they wear one of their outfits. Last year, my boy wore a Desperado outfit for Halloween and he wore an elf outfit for Christmas. I have several sweaters and coats for them for when we visit our family in PA during Thanksgiving.
09.20.08 @ 7:12 pm
I just bought a costume for my beagle and it is an Underdog Costume. It was too small so I had to get him a larger size. I am going to let him wear it for Halloween but he could probably wear it year round. His name is Murphy and he is 3 years old. He was undernourished when we got him from the kennel but he is over forty pounds now and doing great. Happy Halloween!
09.20.08 @ 7:16 pm
I love your show and cookware.
09.21.08 @ 2:05 am
I have two dogs, a pit lab mix and a chihuahua mix. They both have winter coats so we can go for walks in the snow. I was so excited to see such cute halloween costumes at an affordable price.
Thanks Rachael
09.21.08 @ 11:28 am
I have a request. I raise guide dogs. this halloween I will recieve my 2nd puppy. I need a name for a female black lab. Like always there is a catch. Her name has to start with the letter “K”. Any suggestions?
09.21.08 @ 4:33 pm

My Golden Retriever dresses up every year. Before my son was born he normally wore his red robe and gold crown “King”costume. But now that I have a young child he dresses in theme with my son. Last year he was Superman and my son was Batman. This year he is going to be Yoda and my son will be Ankin.
We love Halloween so why not include the whole family in the theme costumes!!!
09.22.08 @ 1:28 am
I have had chihuahuas for past 10 years.
I dress them for all holidays, and for their wedding.last year my baby was a pumpkin. You’ll find their pictures on MY Space. Thank you.

09.22.08 @ 7:22 am
My husband & I have a two year old yorkie named Izzy. We have spoiled him so, but he is our baby. Izzy wears t shirts and sweaters in the fall, winter and spring. Last Halloween he was dressed as a pumpkin. I’m not sure what I want him to wear this year. I guess I’d better get with it Halloween will be here before you know it.
Thanks Rachael!
09.22.08 @ 8:59 am
I dress my doberman(Misty) in costumes every year. She knows when I pull it out it means that she is going to a party to get candy and cookies. She loves wearing it. I have to hide it every year or she will try to put it on.
09.22.08 @ 10:44 am
We dressed our cockapoo Sadie up last year as a “prison dog”. It was very fitting and a friend actually suggested I put a baby gate at the front door so that way she would not ‘escape’ when the kids came ringing, fitting in with the whole theme. We usually recieve 100+ at our house. The costume was just a striped t-shirt which was very comfortable for her, but the hat really made the outfit and the only way she would leave it on her head was if I put a treat in front of her to distract her so I could take her picture before she ripped it off!
09.22.08 @ 11:46 am
I actually do not dress up my dog for Halloween. He is a lab/greyhound/mutt mix.
I do not think that he would take too kindly to a costume. Although I do live on a farm and I do put a bandana around his neck every once in a while and he seems to tolerate that, but I do not know about a full costume. I am afraid I would find it on the ground shredded to pieces.
09.22.08 @ 12:16 pm
I see nothing with dressing a dog up but as for me I would not dress up a dog in a costumes I know they are cute for other people to do so.
09.22.08 @ 1:06 pm

I just bought my Maximus a Peter Pan costume! He is not a big fan of it but he looks absolutely adorable in it! And his big sister Belle is going to dress up as Tinkerbell! I just couldn’t resist when I saw the two costumes!
09.23.08 @ 6:43 pm
I think the hot dog costume is adorable. That is what I got my dog!
09.23.08 @ 7:36 pm
I have been dressing up my two Jack Russell’s for years and they love it. I actually took my oldest one trick or treating one year with my little sister. The funniest thing was that he was Super Man that year and he kept hiking his leg and peeing on his cape.:)
09.24.08 @ 3:12 am
Hi Rach! I love to dress up my little Peyton. He is a peek-a-poo/chihuahua mix. I think that I like putting the clothes on him more than he likes wearing them but he is just sooooo cute and for Halloween he is going to be a pumpkin (the cutest li’l punkin in the patch).
09.24.08 @ 10:59 am
I would love to dress my pitbulls up for halloween it would be so fun they are just like kids to me so I would love it
09.24.08 @ 12:04 pm
My husband and I are not able to have kids so our “girls” are our children and we do dress them for Halloween and take them Trick or Treating…we also buy a large bag of peanut butter dog treats when we buy candy for the kids trick or treating and ask if they will take their dog a treat too.
09.24.08 @ 2:21 pm
My brother just sent me this link who makes dog treats for a living out of all organic, locally grown ingredients (So I always am curious what other people put in theirs when they say its sooo healthy and good for your dog). Why on earth would you put High Fructose Corn syrup in dog treats? Just curious…anyone know?
09.25.08 @ 10:14 am
We have not dressed up our maltese Leo, but 2 years ago when my son was 5 months old I did put him in a “medium dog” bumble bee costume! It cost half as much as the same infant costume, and it makes a great story! Unfortunately our dog is too small to wear it now, so I sent it to my sister whose dog will fit in it, or her son this year!
09.25.08 @ 12:02 pm
I dress my Chihuahua Bentley up all the time. This year he will a little pumpkin (I found a orange sweater and I made a stem/leaf hat for him out of felt) Simple and fun! We are also giving out doggie bags to trick or treating pups on Halloween!
09.25.08 @ 3:10 pm
My GrandDog is 12 years old and we dress him every halloween. he loves it. Last year he was a vampire. We Hav’nt decided this year what he is going to be. His name is Beasha.
09.25.08 @ 3:38 pm
We have two black labs that we dress up every year. One of them absoloutley loves getting dressed up, believe it or not and the other just tolerates it. They were batman and robin last year, it was pretty funny! This year, my husband and I are throwing a big Halloween bash with the wizard of oz theme. Our boys are going to be the tin man and the scarecrow!
09.25.08 @ 5:23 pm
We have an awesome lab who always matches my 2 daughters on halloween. Last year the three of them were skunks. This year they will all be bumble bees! So cute!
09.26.08 @ 11:48 am
I have a little chihuahua and she likes to be dressed because she is cold all the time. She has dresses, coats, sweaters, bathrobe and slippers, sneakers and all sorts of stuff. This year for halloween she is going to be a bumblebee last year she was a witch. She likes to sit outside with me when I pass out halloween candy and the kids just love to see her in her costume. And she doesn’t mind it a bit.
09.26.08 @ 12:18 pm
We have a part jack russell and part lhasa aphso and last year we dressed her up as a rooster and it was hilarious! She really didn’t seem to mind! People are already asking me what she will be this year but it’s going to be hard to beat last year’s chicken!
09.26.08 @ 3:47 pm
A local winery had a halloween festival where people dressed up their pets in costumes. My sheltie, Kate, won third place for best costume. She was a hula dancer. My favorite was her angel costume. It was so Katie. My poodle, Josette, will be Raggedy Ann this year. Kate is a real angel in heaven now. I think any way you spend time with your pet is great for them and you.
09.26.08 @ 6:31 pm
My sweet Tiger(yellow lab+beagle) Past away 6 mos ago. But “our boy” loved Hallowe’en. We had dressed him up as many different movie animals-the most memorable was as PONGO (the father of the 101 Dalmations!) I think as long as your per loves attention and is very calm around children then why not take them out for Hallowe’en!
09.27.08 @ 12:27 pm
we dressed up our little bibi (nick name for binky barnes) in a pumkin. it was so cute
09.28.08 @ 10:09 am
Last year our mini pinscher Hershey was a pumkin that was her first year to dress up for halloween since the kids and I picked out her pumkin last year my husband is picking out her costume this year. last year she walked with us when we took our kids trick or treating and got alot of comments on how cute she was, now the thing about hershey is that she is not a little mini but rather on the tall and broad chested side and on the big side, she will be two on her birthday this year. she does love to get dressed up in the winter time. she has a red shirt she loves yes she loves to wear it its a warm shirt for the winter time and since she is a short hair it helps keep her warm. this year she has a fall coat and a winter one as well. we did try to get her to wear the boots for her paws when she goes outside in the snow and ice but she pulled them off and tried to chew them up. she also has two sweaters she got for christmas but she chewed them up I guess she did not like them and yes she has a summer dress and one light wieght tee shirt for the summer but did not wear them much cause it was tooo hot out for her. so back to halloween my husband has decided to make her a fire fighter its pretty cute and next year i am tirn between a cheerleader and a pretty pink princess so i will be back then!!

We have a wonderful Cavalier King Charles. He does get dressed up for Halloween and we make a special trip to see the Vet and everyone in the office looks forward to seeing him dressed up. We take this time to give the Vet’s office goodies for the holidays. They so much appreciate the treats we drop off.
We do dress up our dog occasionally with a bandana, coat or tshirt of some sort, but we also respect our dog and remove the clothes if it bothers him.
Happy Halloween Everyone !

Hello Rachael & Friends:
Why stop at dogs when it comes to Halloween Costumes? I love to dress up my horses & ponies!
One year I threw an Equi-Halloween Party where all the guests human & horses were in costume. We played pin the tail on the donkey while on horseback and the horses had their own pumpkin eating contest. I made edible treats for everyone, horses like gingerbread and carrot cake.
In 2006 I won the Adult Costume class at the Yreka Spooktacular Horse Show by dressing up as a tiger and painting orange stripes on my brown horse (big pony) with temporary hair color to make her look like a tiger too. It was fun and easy.
Little dogs aren’t the only ones who can have fun with costumes. Apply a bit of imagination and have fun with it. You don’t have to sew or spend lots of money. And be sure to take lots of pictures, you might even win a photo contest at next year’s fair.

I am a city letter carrier that has
rescued one to many starving strays
off my mail route. I don’t know if you will get this email but……
My husband and I rescued a white pit
bull, speckled ears, and one brown eye, that had been shot in the head, and left for dead! On a back road while we were fishing! We want to keep him but we cannot! We have been unable to find a home for him and we cannot keep him! He is a sweet heart! We named him Pete! Please help us find him a home in honor of Isaboo!
09.29.08 @ 3:17 pm
We have a mini-daschund named Sadie and last year for her first halloween we dressed her up in a pirate costume, she was so cute! We even got a picture of her with one eye closed, totally coincidence, and it was a perfect pirate pose! Her costume was such a hit we will probably use it again this year.
09.29.08 @ 6:48 pm

I always dress Cleatus up for Halloween, he has been a pumpkin, a horse when I was a cowboy, a catapiller and many more. But his sister Claudia does not like it so she goes as herself.

Hi Rachel,
Since we’ve had our puggle, Mrs. Beasley, we’ve dressed her up for Halloween. In 2006, she was a devil, in 2007 she was Yoda and this year she will be Elvis.
I take a picture of her in her Halloween costume and it turns out to be our Christmas card for the year. We got A LOT of good reactions for Yoda last year.
I think it’s neat to dress up our “kids”.

Don’t forget about us cat lovers! I have a Bengal cat named Indiana Jones. Last year, I bought him a orange t-shirt that has a pumpkin on it and took him “trick-or-treating” to all of the neighbors that own dogs (Indy loves dogs!). They got a big kick out of it.

I would love to dress my dogs, but I have 2 large dogs. Most places think an extra large dog is 50 lbs, not 95. Do u know any places that offer the bigger sizes, or do i have to make them like last year?

I have 3 dogs, and one of them hates to wear anything, so we don’t make her. The other two don’t mind a bit. We dressed one of them up as a lion for the pet mardi gras parade. She looked just like a mini lion. Suggestions for Emily Monroe (posting Sept 21) for female dog names beginning with “K”…Kaylei, Kenya, Keesha, Kiera, Kiki, Karma. Hope one of them fits her. And thank you Emily for your work raising guide dogs.

This year will be Lola Kate’s first Halloween! Our 6 month old Chihuahua loves to wear clothes, but has her own personal favorite piece. It’s a princess shirt that reads “The Princess Has Arrived.” My husband and I decided to dress her up as a princess. Lola will be so cute in her pink princess dress with the matching hat! I’m sure she’ll be the only barking princess.

I tend to dress my dogs up when they are puppies. It’s been many years since I have been able to go beyond just a holiday collar but I recently got two puppies was so excited that I was going to get to dress them up. I’ve however ran into a problem. I’m a big dog girl and even though they are puppies, they already weigh 50 plus pounds. They just don’t seem to make costumes for dogs that large. I’m currently looking into having something made but I’m so bummed that my Maui won’t be a chicken and Cheli won’t be a lobster.

I plan to dress my one year old chihuahua this halloween. I’m going to use coat hanger wire and old nylons and spray paint them white, making angle wings which will attach to her harness. I never thought I’d be a person to dress up my dog for any occasion but I’ve found since she has very short hair and hardly any on her stomach she has a couple different sweaters that she dosen’t mind wearing if she’s cold. If she is warm she just chases it and tries to chew it off, which is kind of funny. She gets tired of it quickly and gives up though. I saw the angel wings made for babies on Martha Stewart a couple years back and I fell in love with them. Well I have no baby, but I thought I’d dress up the dog so when the kids come to the house they can have a good laugh.

oh and you can do a search on search engine for dog costumes and most of them have the hot dog costume.

I tell ya — I’ve always been one of those people that cringe at seeing dogs dressed up. I’ve even laughed at my friend because she puts booties and a coat to walk her dog on the beach when it rains.
However, I’ve just recently adopted a choc lab/pointer mix from a rescue group and all I want to do is put pink bows in her hair and buy her the purple monkey halloween costume I saw at Target.
She is just sssooo cute and the pink/purple goes so adorably with her brown fur.
On a separate note: I’ve been reading other posts about rescued pets. I foster dogs for the rescue group where I adopted my Raven. I started fostering her and couldn’t give her up. She is the biggest mush and she is such a good girl. She is pretty well trained for basic commands, but I would like to get her off lead trained and get her prepped to be a therapy dog. Does anyone know of a class to do that in the Daytona Beach/St Augustine, FL area?
Thanks!
(Sorry for the long post)

I don’t have children and get great joy out of dressing my dog for Halloween. Cloe is a four pound Chihuahua that I take almost everywhere with me. This year she is going to be a ladybug.

Last haloween my bichon was an elf and my pit was a reindeer! It was adorable (of course most people thought it not so cute as soon as they hear the reindeer is actually a pit bull) But they were so cute! So maybe this year, they’ll be the same and I’ll be santa
Actually I’m thinking my bichon will be tinkerbelle and my pit will be peter pan… its something fun to try!
P.S. I love that you’re getting out the good word on pit bulls! Thanks!

My black and white Staffordshire bull terrier loves getting dressed up! Well, “love” is probably a stretch - but she doesn’t seem to mind it! She has a sweater and hoodie for the cold because her hair is short like Isaboo’s! She wears a KC Chiefs jersey when she watches the game with my husband on Sundays! This year she is going to be Princess Leia for Halloween! It matches the Yoda you have shown! Hilarious!

P.S. Saturday October 25 is Pitbull Awareness Day!

I have a full blooded basset hound and a husky mix. Both of my dogs absolutly love to wear a costume for halloween. This year i believe they are going to be a cheerleader and a football player. I can`t wait `till Christmas to put on their little deer antlers!

Hi, I have always thought that you were very impressive and i enjoy watching you on TV; however, I thought the world of you! When I learned about your love for pit bulls and dogs in general, God Bless You!
I have always had a passion for animals specifically cats and dogs. Growing up in the South Bronx near Yankee Stadium those were the animals that I had the previledge of sharing my youth with. Later in life I married and move to South Florida and successfully raised five beautiful children. At age 51 I am still full of energy and maintain a positive out-look on life. I now reside in the panhandle in Florida about 60 miles north of Panama City, Florida and just south of Dothan, Alabama.
The quality of life is FANTASTIC; but the inhumane practices toward animal is horrible dogs, cats and horses are regarded for work purposes; if they are no longer of any use their life is in danger and normally they are terminated. The vets. are few and they have outrages fees to treat animals. As a result local residents are unable to have their pet check routinely and the term spade and neuter are unheard of!
I am not writing to complain; but instead to offer what I consider to be a very doable alternative and maybe I can gain your support. Please note that I have been rescuing dogs for my entire life. Two years ago i decided to aide stray and abandon dogs and cats in my first year we rescued 611 dogs and cats. And I can honestly inform you that was not even a drop in the bucket. The truth is that we can continue to rescue 1000 dogs and cats a year and vets. and residents and terminate another 1000 each medically and inhumanely and the fact still remains; that as long as we leave fertile females stray and abandon they will 25 to 30 off-spring per year.
So the most humane and appropriate measures to take is to offer community awareness and education and conduct an aggressive spade and neuter campaign coupled with ordiance that would support humane practice and support the efforts of animal control and a shelter. It is a shame how many beautiful and useful dogs and cats are terminated because careless and irresponsible actions by humans.
I own 160 acres in the sit-city Bonifay and my plan is build a shelter for 500 animals, with an emphasis on spade and neuter an attach to it build a k-12 private/public due-emersion school to prepare the students in careers of environment and animal science.
In the mean while we will continue to offer shelter for abandon and stray dog.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

I don’t usually just dress my dogs up. I do put bandanas them. I did buy my mom’s mini poodle a sweater because she gets cold, not just because its cute. However… this year I did get them Halloween costumes. Drake will be “ninja dog”, a cute little karate outfit with a black belt. (I tried a devil first but he wouldnt keep the horns on his head). Bella is going to be a princess. She actually really likes it. I ask her if she wants to put it on and she gets so excited. As far as I’m concerned if the dog doesnt mind it, go for it. I might start dressing bella up more often. PS- my sister puts boots on her dog in the winter so they can do their morning run with out the snow and salt getting stuck in her paws and she loves them!

A few years ago my nephew’s decided to wear all black costumes so I thought that my dog (black lab) could help others look out for them on the street by wearing a bumble bee costume. The wings and the yellow stripes helped the people in there cars see them when they walked across the street. That Halloween was a blast not just for the kids but for my dog.

I have a year and a half old pitbull. She is such a big baby, love her to death. She is going to be a butterfly this year. I just picked up some wings from a yard sale for 25 cents. They have the elastic loop for her front legs to go through. And i’m putting black pipe cleaners on her collar for anntenas. Hope you have a great Halloween, To you and yours, from me and mine, Luvz ya!!!

Hi I Have 2 chihuahuas and I dress them up every day in regular clothes and I def dressed them up for Halloween…my kids are teens now and so I had my fun with my pups lol They love getting dressed and are use to it because I started them when they were little. My female chi was a kitty cat and my male was a police dog…they looked so darling and of course they were the talk of the town every where we went Halloween night. They love the attention so they just took it like Rock Stars! lol
