Facebook for Cats and Dogs Posted by Pet Lovers on February 8, 2010 | 16 Comments

With over one million monthly active users, you pet lovers out there have probably already heard of Facebook’s not-so-new pet sites - Catbook and Dogbook - but they are new to me. I had to check out the sites - which are Facebook applications where pet owners can set up a profile for their pet, post photos, and “friend”other pets/owners. In addition to Catbook and Dogbook, there are apps for other animals as well - Horsebook, Fishbook, even Ferretbook. On the sites, there are ways to connect with other pet owners who have the same breed or live nearby to meet up for doggie playdates. Posting adorable photos to share with online “friends” is undoubtedly the most popular use of the sites. Anyone out there on Dogbook or Catbook?

Joined Isaboo on Facebook, thanks. I received the sample of your Nutrish Dog Food and my dog, Pilot just “Vacumed” it up! I have found no other food that he has enjoyed and eaten as quickly as he has your dog food. I admire and respect you and love your show. I wish you and yours a Happy Valentines Day also!

Thiis is a great feature for pet lovers and owners. I’m also crazy for the Style Section in Dog Fancy Magazine. Great ideas for designing homes with dogs, cats, well, just about any pet. Remember, whatever is dog proof and cat proof is probably slob proof too!

Thank you for sharing this information about all the animal books…how wonderful. It is so important for all of us who understand that our animals are kindred spirits worthy of respect and love to have opportunities to connect with each other. This is how we build a better world for all living beings.

We invite you to join with us also…Animal World USA-International..as we create Weeks for the Animals in the states and internationally. We list rescue groups and sanctuaries (at no cost) on the front pages of each website created for each state and international country groups. We then describe their events during the week with a direct link to their own websites.

We welcome all businesses, clubs and cultural organizations to join in the celebrations to acknowledge and support the animals.

    Hi Rachel:

I finally got a chance to view your website. I love you and your show, but my main curriosity was to see a picture of izzyboo. I have a red nose pit and his name is Jeezyboo LaRock. He has the same markings as Izzyboo. The look alike. He is ‘THE BABY’ in my household and I love him COMPLETELY. He has brought me total joy and hapiness. I know how u feel about your pet. I will try to do dogbook. Thanks Rachel.

    Hi Rach!
Beau Beau has had his own page for quite some time.
This past weekend we were a part of an amazing Dog Rescue event - Last Chance Highway.

We adopted Buster, one of the 8 pups to be featured in a new series:
Animal Planet Rolls Out New Summer Series:
    Last Chance Highway
This summer, Animal Planet will change that with LAST CHANCE HIGHWAY, an eight-part series produced by Al Roker Entertainment that focuses on two individuals’ monumental mission to give unwanted dogs one last chance for survival.

The stakes are high for Shelly Bookwalter and Kyle Peterson and for the soon-to-be-euthanized dogs they are fighting to save from a tragic fate.
Each year, they organize a band of volunteers to take part in a unique mobile adoption campaign. Shelly leads an effort to find homes for strays and unclaimed shelter dogs.
And every week Kyle climbs aboard his tractor trailer rig to transport those lucky dogs, and more than one hundred others, thousands of miles up the east coast to meet their new families.
This heroic journey is repeated almost 52 weeks a year; it’s an exhausting ritual but one which finds homes for more than 150 dogs each week.

This past weekend was the official pet adoption weekend.
We adopted our Buster on Feb. 13th and feel like he has been a part of our home/family forever.

Please consider adoption when thinking about a pet!!!

I adopted 2 full grown Persian cats whose owner had died-a friend of mine called me after my 20 year old Maine Coon passed away. These sweet beauties needed to stay together- 5 and 8 years old. I already had a 16 year old Maine Coon cat and thought 3 cats might be too much.

My life and my Maine Coon’s life, have never been happier-they are sweet, loving and so happy to be loved-adult cats that need a home are the best.

My “little children with paws” have blessed my life- with all that goes on-there is always joy and happiness in my home-they ‘respect” the older cat and she has found new “youth” with their antics.

Any home that needs to “have and give love” needs to adopt an animal- dog or cat. They make your life complete.

I have never been happier with my “children with paws”- all 3 get along so well-loving, sweet and

Rachael, my dog loves your Nutrish dog food. I use them as treats when she says “Mama”. Go to YouTube and look under “Nakita says mama” and you will see my talking dog. I also love your show. I watch it every day. Keep up the good work.

Dear Rachael, my human and I are big fans and watch your show together every day. We attempted a friend request with Isaboo a month or so ago and never received a confirmation. We are very disappointed. I’m a good girl and I’m just over 7 years old. I’m a collie/great pyrenese mix and rescued my human while I resided at the humane society when I was 10 months old. My human is disabled with severe Fibromyalgia and I take good care of her. I make sure she always has company (even when I have to put up with her evil siamese cat). I love your Nutrish food but live in a small town and can’t find it very often. Please have more pet segments on your show and let us see more of Isaboo, thank you.

I want to thank Rachel for developing Nutrish. My 7 year old Long-haired Dachsund has terrible skin problems. Olivia would scratch herself until her skin bled and she had scabs. I tried everything, vet products, different dog food and nothing worked until I found Nutrish. Thanks again Rachel this dog food is amazing!!
